Personal bio
Solmaz Sharif has published poetry in The New Republic, Poetry, Granta, and others. She has received a Rona Jaffe Foundation Writers' Award, Ruth Lilly/Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Fellowship, a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and a “Discovery”/Boston Review Poetry Prize. While at UC Berkeley, she studied and taught with June Jordan's Poetry for the People. Her first poetry collection, LOOK, which interrogates the US Department of Defense's dictionary, will be published by Graywolf in 2016. |
