Personal bio
Robert Crews is Associate Professor of History, Director of the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies, and Director of Undergraduate Studies in the History Department. He received his BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, his MA from Columbia University, and PhD from Princeton University. His teaching and research focus on modern Islamic movements, Afghanistan, Iran, Central Asia, the Caucasus, and the Russian empire. He has received the Dean's Award for Distinguished Teaching for First years of Teaching and the El Centro Chicano Faculty Appreciation Award. Currently teaching
