Personal bio
Nelson Koen holds a Civil Engineer and an MBA degree with concentration in Finance from the Andres Bello Catholic University in Caracas, Venezuela. He also holds a Masters in Construction Management from Stanford University. Nelson has been involved in Construction and Real Estate Development for over 30 years. He was VP of Construction and Partner of Constructora Cohen in Venezuela, one of the largest multifamily developers in the country. From 2004 to 2010 he worked for the Nicholson Company and OâBrien Homes before starting his own company, a Real Estate Fund focused on buying and selling distressed properties in the San Francisco Bay Area. Nelson is also a Visiting Lecturer at Stanford University since 2004, he teaches Engineering Economy and Real Estate Development Finance. He lives in Palo Alto with his wife and 3 kids.
