Personal bio
Stacey Bent is a professor of chemical engineering and professor, by courtesy, of chemistry, materials science and engineering, and electrical engineering at Stanford University. She received a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in chemistry from Stanford University. She was a postdoctoral fellow at AT&T Bell Laboratories and assistant professor of chemistry at New York University from 1994-1998. She has been at Stanford University since 1998. Her group's research emphasizes fundamental surface and materials chemistry with applications in sustainable energy devices and next generation electronics. Stacey Bent is co-Director of the Center on Nanostructuring for Efficient Energy Conversion, a DOE Energy Frontier Research Center and Director of the TomKat Center for Sustainable Energy.
