Personal bio
Jake is the newest lecturer with the Stanford Storytelling Project. His academic background is in Anthropology (M.A. Univ. of London) and has always made a study of people and places using a variety of media. Radio: Jake is an award-winning independent public radio producer whose pieces have aired on: This American Life, Studio360, NPR's All Things Considered and PRI's The World (and many more). He has traveled to over 50 countries, reporting and photographing (represented by Getty and Corbis Images), including conflict zones (Haiti, Iraq, Afghanistan...). Just before coming to Stanford Jake was teaching Humanities and Social Sciences to undergrads at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco. But he missed good Mexican food and has returned to California.
