Personal bio
I was born in Guyana, and I received my B.Sc. degree in Mathematics from the University of the West Indies in 1963, and my Ph.D. in Statistics from Cambridge University in 1967. After research and teaching posts at University College London and the University of Michigan, I joined the Stanford faculty in 1972. I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Statistics. My research interests include the development and application of mathematical and statistical models in many areas, such as, signal detection, motivation, parent-infant interaction, sociolinguistics, and law as a social science. |
