Personal bio
Dr. Charlie Cox was born in Brevard, North Carolina and was always interested in chemistry throughout high school. While seeking a degree in chemical engineering, Charlie decided to make the switch to chemistry and continued to study chemistry throughout graduate school. While in graduate school, he worked with Dr. Melanie Cooper who is best known in her field of chemical education and collaborated with Dr. Ron Stevens in the development of IMMEX software ( www.immex.ucla.edu). After graduate school, Charlie did a postdoc in NH in chemical education and credits his time at UNH largely to his motivation to seek a career in teaching. In his career, Charlie has taught general chemistry, inorganic chemistry, advanced organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, teaching methodology, and various labs. He started his career at Stanford in 2010.
