Personal bio
Dr. Andy Fields is the Director of Stanford Outdoor Education and has been with Stanford since 2006. Dr. Fields holds an Ed.D. in Educational Administration and Leadership from the University of the Pacific, Stockton, as well as several additional degrees including an M.S. in Adventure-Based Management and Outdoor Leadership. Dr. Fields maintains several professional certifications including advanced swift water rescue, climbing instruction and rescue, wilderness first responder, etc. Dr. Fields serves on the Board of Directors for the Professional Climbing Instructors Association (PCIA), teaches numerous professional training and leadership courses, and focuses his scholarly research on leadership development among adult learners. Dr. Fields has worked for several universities including CSU Hayward, UC Davis, and University of the Pacific, Stockton. A California native, Dr. Fields participates in many of the abundant outdoor activities California has to offer such as surfing, mountain biking, climbing, rafting, kayaking, and more. |
