Notes: Meets in Y2E2 PBL lab. It has been a long standing policy of the department not to rent out or make available the computer cluster to other groups. The cluster space is for use only by CEE classes and course projects.nCEE Department Policy of computer cluster teaching facilities:nThe computing cluster teaching facilities in Y2E2 were created to serve educational needs for undergraduate and graduate students in Civil & Environmental Engineering. The rooms are intended to serve the dual needs of a computing teaching lab and a computing cluster. It is available for use for computing-intensive courses that utilize the individual computer workstations for hands-on computing instruction during the class. When not in use for class instruction, the computer workstations will be available (24/7) for student use on class projects and assignments. To the extent that other departments or programs contribute to the acquisition and maintenance of computers and related equipment, students from these programs will also have access for educational needs. The cluster is not intended as a resource to support sponsored research projects, since (a) some of the software licenses (e.g., Matlab) specify limit the applications to teaching activities, and (b) the facility is the only one of its kind that is available to provide a computing intensive resource for classroom teaching and course projects.
