CEE 255: Introduction to Sensing Networks for CEE (CEE 155)
Introduce the design and implementation of sensor networks for monitoring the built and natural environment. Emphasis on the integration of modern sensor and communication technologies, signal processing and statistical models for network data analysis and interpretation to create practical deployments to enable sustainable systems, in areas such as energy, weather, transportation and buildings. Students will be involved in a practical project that may involve deploying a small sensor system, data models and analysis and signal processing. Limited enrollment.

DESIGN 255: The Design of Data
Learn the art of telling stories with visual information. Our world is increasingly complex and laden with many forms of measurable data. Infographics abound, but whether explicit or not, the stories they tell are all designed. In this hands-on course, students will learn to use mapping and design techniques to sort and synthesize data, unlock insights and communicate information. Students will practice finding insight from both qualitative and quantitative information. Take this course if you are interested in learning how to navigate through and create for the complicated intersection of data and design. This class is for students of all experience levels.
