POLISCI 241T: Political Economy of Gender

This course provides an introduction to the political economy of gender. The course explores the key areas of debate on women's representation. Why are womennunderrepresented in formal political institutions? What affects women's representation in politics? What are the effects of women's representation? Do women politicians behave differently than their male counterparts? We review the literature to address those questions. No prior knowledge is required.
