FILMPROD 410: Elements of Filmmaking: Editing and Sound Design

Restricted to M.F.A. Documentary Film students. This course offers students an understanding of contemporary practices in editing and sound design as they relate to documentary film production. Through critical analysis of how films are constructed in the edit room and how sound and image work in relation to one another, as well as a series of practical assignments in (re-)editing footage and designing sound for film, the students will gain a foundation of craft they can apply to their filmmaking. Offered every other year to both cohorts.
