CHINA 291: The Structure of Modern Chinese (CHINA 191)
Introduce to students the basic grammar of Standard Modern Chinese in comparison to English. Students learn about the logic of the Chinese in communicating ideas and events without grammatical markers like plurality, definiteness, tense, subject/object, etc, as well as common uses of verbs and adjectives that are totally different from those in English. Prerequisite:
CHINLANG 3 or equivalent, or consent of instructor.
