Advanced. Video, criticism, and contemporary media theory investigating the time image. Students create experimental video works, addressing the integration of video with traditional art media such as sculpture and painting. Nonlinearity made possible by Internet and DVD-based video. COMM 277A: Computational Journalism (COMM 177A)

Focuses on using data and algorithms to lower the cost of discovering stories or telling stories in more engaging and personalized ways.
