This course is co-taught by Thomas Ehrlich, former dean of the Law School and now Consulting Professor at the Graduate School of Education and Mariatte Denman, Director of Educational Programs at the Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning (VPTL). It provides students from many disciplines throughout the university opportunities to gain the knowledge and skills needed to be effective teachers. Students watch and interview master teachers at Stanford, learn a range of effective pedagogical methods, and prepare a syllabus module for a workshop or class they might teach. They have an opportunity to practice teach in a supportive environment and gain feedback on their teaching. Elements used in grading: Class Participation, Written Assignments, Final Course or Workshop Syllabus Module.
