Who gets ¿published¿ and why? We will investigate how media bring voices and ideas to their audiences: how Ted Talk organizers decide what ideas are important, how podcasts distribute what we hear, and how museum curators control what art we remember. This class explores the intricacies of sustainable energy, focusing on the myths, slogans, and rhetorical narratives that surround these debates. For example, is environmentalism inherently at odds with economic prosperity? Does living an environmentally conscious lifestyle require personal sacrifice and suffering?
