CEE 223: Materials for Sustainable Built Environments

In this course, students will learn about new and traditional construction materials for use in sustainable building and infrastructure projects. Materials will include cement-based materials and fiber-reinforced polymer composites for structural and non-structural applications, as well as novel materials for e.g., facades, insulation, and paving. Material properties, their performance over time and their impact on people and the environment will be discussed. Pre-requisite: CEE 101A or equivalent.
