Sylvia Merrell

Sylvia Merrell Sylvia Bereknyei Merrell earned her Bachelors and Masters degrees from Stanford in Human Biology (BA) and Anthropological Sciences (MS) in 2004, and her Doctorate in Public Health (DrPH) from UC Berkeley in 2012. She has been conducting research at Stanford since 2004, focused on medical education, cultural competency, patient-physician communication, implementation science, and health services research. She is currently a Research Scholar in the Department of Medicine, using both qualitative and mixed methods research methods with the Stanford-Surgery Policy Improvement Research and Education Center, as well as the Goodman Surgical Education Center.
