Dr Jayakumar Rajadas is a distinguished scientist and academic leader with 30 years of experience in drug development, currently an Adjunct Full Professor at UCSF (Affiliated) and the Director of the ADDReB lab (Affiliated) at Stanford University's Cardiovascular Institute. His extensive contributions to the field are reflected in his portfolio of 260+ publications and 82+ patents. Dr Rajadasâs primary research unravels the molecular mechanisms of neurodegenerative diseases, specifically using AFM, fluorescence, and NMR to map the structural details of toxic Tau and Aβ protein oligomers involved in Alzheimerâs disease.
As the Director of the Advanced Drug Delivery and Regenerative Biomaterials Laboratory at Stanford, Dr Rajadas bridges the gap between basic research and patient care. He oversees the development of cutting-edge technologies, including bio-implants and regenerative therapies for cardiovascular and nerve tissues. His expertise also encompasses the development of small-molecule and protein-based drugs and advanced wound-healing solutions. Before his tenure at Stanford, Dr Rajadas demonstrated his administrative leadership as the Founding Chair of the Bio-organic and Neurochemistry Division at the Central Leather Research Institute in Chennai, India.
