Professor Hausman teaches and performs research in Operations Management; he specializes in Supply Chain Management. His B.A. degree is from Yale University and his Ph.D. is from the Sloan School of Management, M.I.T. He previously taught at Cornell, M.I.T., and the University of Rochester prior to joining Stanford in 1977. He is a Fellow of The Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences; a Distinguished Fellow of the Manufacturing and Service Operations Management Society; and a Fellow of the Production & Operations Management Society. For relaxation he enjoys playing piano in a big band.
