Personal bio
Vasile Stanescu is a Ph.D. candidate at Stanford University in the Program of Modern Thought and Literature. Vasile serves as co-Senior editor for the Critical Animals Studies books series published by Rodopi Press. He also serves on the review board and is part of the "Editor Collective" (i.e. co-editor) for the Journal of Critical Animal Studies. He has written award-winning papers, presented and organized over twenty academic conferences, has nine publications, and has received eighteen awards, grants, and fellowships. He is also a founding member, and current co-organizer, of the Stanford Environmental Humanities Project. In 2011, he received an external grant from the Culture and Animals Foundation to help fund his current research on the intersection of animal rights and environmentalism.
