Shahab Mousavi
Personal bio
Shahab is an MS CS ('21) student at Stanford, specializing in AI and deep learning and passionate about having a social impact through entrepreneurship. He spent his childhood in Canada and later moved back to Iran with his family. Prior to Stanford, he completed a dual degree program in Civil Engineering and Computer (Software) Engineering at Sharif University of Technology in 2019. He has done research on eliminating biases in hiring using eye-tracking software and machine learning at the Stanford GSB Behavioral Lab, NoDB systems at EPFL, the applications of agent-based modeling in simulating the public response to energy conservation policies, and the practical applications of blockchain technology in the insurance industry. Outside of school, Shahab is a nature lover who enjoys a panoply of outdoor activities, from going on spontaneous treks in the wilderness to biking around in Palo Alto. Shahab is a food lover who just can't say no to embarking on new culinary experiences, and a geography geek who considers a detailed map to be a feast for the eyes. He is fascinated by technology, history, political science, psychology, and applied behavior analysis; spending a disproportionate amount of time reading up on related topics.
