Personal bio
Gabriela (Gabi) Gavrila is a PhD candidate in the Graduate School of Education. In her research, she focuses on the role of universities in society and within local communities through the lenses of diversity and sustainability. She is also passionate about teaching courses at the intersection of education, sociology, urban studies, and organizational theory. Gabi is also Graduate Fellow for Community-Engaged research with the Haas Center for Public Service. In that role, she is responsible for organizing the 2021-22 Research as Praxis workshop series for graduate students interested in learning more about and developing their skills in community-engaged scholarship and community-based research.
