Personal bio
Sara Brownell received her Bachelors degree in Biological Sciences from Cornell University in 2004. She earned a M.S. in Biology from The Scripps Research Institute in 2007 and a Ph.D. in Biology from Stanford University in 2011. Sara also received a M.A. in Education from Stanford University in 2011. As a lecturer in the Department of Biology, Sara is teaching introductory lab courses and writing-intensive courses, as well as coordinating the Undergraduate Honors Program in Biology. Her research interests focus on improving undergraduate biology education, specifically inquiry-based lab courses and independent research experiences. In addition to teaching and education, Sara enjoys hiking, Chipotle, and shih tzus (in particular, her six month old shih tzu named Theodore). |
