Personal bio
Michael Kahan is the Associate Director of the Program on Urban Studies at Stanford, and a lecturer in Urban Studies. He holds a BA from Yale University and a Ph.D. from the University of Pennsylvania, both in History. Prior to joining Stanford in 2003, Kahan worked as a lecturer at the University of Pennsylvania and taught courses in nineteenth- and twentieth-century urban and social history. His other interests include guitar, bicycling, hiking, and spending time with his family. Currently teaching
