Personal bio
John Wang, Edward Clark Crossett Emeritus Professor of Humanistic Studies, received his B.A. degree in English from National Taiwan University (1957) and Ph.D. from Cornell University (1968). He taught at the University of Michigan before joining the Stanford faculty in 1969. He has written extensively on early Chinese narrative, traditional Chinese fiction and drama, and Chinese literary criticism. He enjoys reading and traveling.
