Personal bio
As a former Div 1 athlete, Cassie Wright is interested in the role of sport in shaping social relations and dominant understandings of culture and gender. Her work focuses on the intersections of feminist, development, and media rhetorics with a particular emphasis on the role of international sports policy and development (and its media practices) in the construction of gender narratives. Cassie teaches writing courses on sport, media, and rhetoric as well as courses on international sports policy and development rhetorics. She occasionally guest lectures for WGS studies on issues about sport and gender and hopes to teach courses on the international women's sport movement, as well as courses on research ethics and methods.
