Personal bio
Brian E. Hardin was a co-founder of PLANT PV, which developed new materials for solar cells. PLANT PV developed a silver-on-aluminum metallization paste that increases the solar cell power conversion efficiency and improves soldering during module manufacturing. The company's technology was acquired in 2019. Brian received a PhD in Material Science from Stanford University (2011), where he developed new solar cell architectures with Prof. Michael McGehee. In graduate school, Brian co-authored over a dozen peer reviewed articles in journals such as Nature Photonics and won the Material Research Society Gold Medal Award. Brian was previously a Swiss Fulbright scholar under the supervision of Prof. Michael Graetzel and received a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004.
