Personal bio
Alvan Ikoku is Assistant Professor of Comparative Literature and Medicine at Stanford. He received his MD from Harvard Medical School and his PhD in English and comparative literature from Columbia University. He works at the intersection of literature and medicine, with a primary focus on Africa and its diasporas, bioethics and medical humanities, and histories of tropical medicine and global health.
