HUMBIO 139E: Sport and Exercise Medicine
This is an upper division lecture course taught by the course directors and guest lecturers (experts from the field of sports and exercise medicine) who will cover a range of topics within sports medicine ¿ ethical issues in return-to-play decisions, the balance point between health and harm in sport, the role of sports medicine in the prevention of chronic disease through exercise, common sports injuries, exercise physiology, and diseases common to athletes. Students will develop critical reading, thinking and writing skills as well as oral presentation skills and the confidence to engage in verbal exchange.
