Opportunities, challenges, and contradictions in East Africa with the tension between preservation of traditional values and economic and cultural pressures of globalization. Three modules, Health and Disease; Education and Technology; Conservation, Tourism and Land Resource Management, address such issues as infectious disease, resource management, water conservation, ecological decline, and microfinance.
