OSPOXFRD 58: Ethical, Legal, and Policy Issues in the Biosciences: Comparative Perspectives
Questions raised by advances in the biosciences and how different governments answer these questions differently. Among issues to be discussed: in vitro fertilization, embryo selection through preimplantation genetic diagnosis, human germline genome editing, mitochondrial transfer, human cloning, genetically modified non-human organisms, defining death, neuroimaging in the criminal system, human stem cell research, and human-non-chimeras. One major question will underlie the seminar ¿ what leads different countries to reach their own, different answers?
