OSPPARIS 58: Reading the Origin of Species in the Age of Genomics

Read the Origin of Species as the book of its time and consider the arguments, natural history examples, and difficulties that Darwin faced given the state of his knowledge of biology and geology. Consider how these arguments change now that we live in the world of modern genetics and genomics. How we can learn about deep history before there were recognizable fossils and how we can think of cancer and HIV as diseases of evolution.
