MUSIC 174J: Jazz & Contemporary Guitar

An application of the performance techniques developed by the innovative, genius, and radical guitarists from 1930 to 2020. Improvising, comping, reading, repertoire, and technique will be studied in depth. Rhythm styles, the application of modern theory, transcribing solos, and chord melody arranging are developed through the course of study. May be repeated for credit a total of 14 times.
