Personal bio
Dr. Obal is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine. For his research on G-protein coupled receptors and early cardiovascular development, he uses human inducible pluripotent stem cells. Currently he is focusing on the effect of chronic opioid administration on both endothelial and cardiomyocyte function. He also develops new techniques to discover the interaction of endothelial cells and cardiomyocytes during early heart development. These studies are conducted in close collaboration with the labs of Drs Kobilka and Chu at Stanford. |
