Personal bio
David Lummus received his B.A. in Italian and Classics from the University of Texas, Austin and his Ph.D. in Italian from Stanford. He wwas a Fulbright Scholar in Matera, Italy in between. Before coming to Stanford he taught at Yale and has twice being a visiting scholar at Notre Dame. He was given the 2015-16 School of Humanities & Sciences Dean's Award for Achievements in First Years of Teaching at Stanford. His academic specialization is in the poetics and culture of 14th-century Italy. Beyond academia he enjoys reading graphic novels, collecting records, and listening to music.
