Sean A. Hanretta

Sean A. Hanretta Sean Hanretta received his B.A. in History from the Colorado College and his Ph.D. in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He specializes in the history of religion in Africa and in intellectual and cultural history, primarily involving modern Islam. He has a strong interest in historical theory and methods and in transnational history. He has carried out research in Mali, Senegal, the Ivory Coast, Ghana, France, the UK and the US.
