Brendan Carvalho received his Medical degree from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa in 1994 and specialized in Anesthesiology in the United Kingdom obtaining his FRCA from the Royal College of Anaesthetists in 2000. He came to Stanford University Medical Center in 2001 to complete an Obstetric Anesthesia fellowship. Brendan is currently an Associate Professor (MCL line) in the Department of Anesthesiology. His clinical and translational research is in the field of Obstetric and Regional Anesthesia. Brendan has received NIH funding and conducted several single- and multi-center industry-funded studies. He is widely published with over 50 peer-reviewed publications and has written several book chapters.
