George Hardin Brown

George Hardin Brown With degrees in philosophy, theology, and a doctorate from Harvard in English language and literature, Brown as an emeritus professor teaches courses in medieval literary culture and paleography (the study of medieval manuscripts). He is a specialist in the writing of the Venerable Bede, "the father of English history" and writer on every subject in the medieval curriculum. Brown enjoys teaching these subjects and introducing students to the treasures of the library. For recreation, besides reading he particularly likes swimming and skiing.
